• Take Locust Ridge Road, past Arrowhead Lakes, to Thornhurst (5 miles). Turn right onto Old River Road and proceed 2 miles to Pine Grove Road. Turn Left onto Pine Grove and continue 100 yards. Briar Patch is on the left.

From Gouldsboro/Moscow . . .

• At Route 435 intersection with Clifton Beach Road/Phillips Road (blinker light), take Clifton Beach Road for 6 miles. Turn right onto Pine Grove Road. Proceed 100 yards to the Briar Patch on left.

From Bear Creek . . .

• Route 115 South to Meadow Run Road (blinker light). Turn left onto Meadow Run Road to Mountain Lake (5 miles). Turn right onto Bear Lake Road and proceed 5 miles to Pine Grove Road. Turn left onto Pine Grove Road and Continue 1-1/2 miles. Briar Patch on right.

The BriarPatch compliments Thornhurst Nurseries Christmas Tree Farm. Grown on the premises are White, Norwegian and Colorado Blue Spruce Trees, as well as a great selection of Fraser Fir, Concolor Fir and Douglas Fir. Also available are beautiful, all-natural hand made Princess Pine and Incense Cedar garlands. There are wreaths made of Princess Pine, Blue Spruce and Fir greens with touches of Cedar and Orgonia and decorated with the bow of your choice.

Preseason Christmas tree tagging begins the last weekend in September.

Here is our Mulled Apple Cider recipe.

Served on weekends during December....

• 2 Quarts Apple Cider
• 10 Whole Cloves
• 10 Whole Allspice
• 4 (4-inch) Cinnamon Sticks
• 1/4 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar

Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Remove and discard spices; serve hot. Yield 2 Quarts
